We install and service Lennox mini-split systems throughout West Palm Beach, and most complete installations run between $3,500 and $7,500 depending on the number of indoor units and the complexity of the line-set run. If your existing Lennox mini-split has a failed compressor, leaking evaporator coil, or a dead control board, we can usually diagnose it same-day and get the replacement part ordered within 24 hours. The way most West Palm Beach owners discover a failed part is simple: the unit is running but not cooling, or it’s making a sound it never made before, or worst case, it tripped the breaker and now nothing works.
What we know from years of working on Lennox equipment in this climate is that salt air and relentless humidity do not treat mini-split electronics kindly. The good news is that Lennox builds a serviceable system with real parts availability, and we stock the most common failure items on our trucks.
Which Lennox Models This Applies To
Lennox makes two primary mini-split lines that we run into regularly in West Palm Beach homes: the MLA and MPB series (single-zone and multi-zone) and the newer MCA and MPA series, which are the higher-SEER inverter-driven units. The key compatibility detail most owners don’t know is this: indoor and outdoor units are paired by capacity class, not by model year. A 12,000 BTU indoor head from one Lennox series will not necessarily communicate with a 9,000 BTU outdoor condenser from another, even if both say “Lennox” on the nameplate.
When you call us, we’ll ask you to read the model number off the side of the outdoor unit and the indoor head. That number is your compatibility key. There is also a label inside the front cover of the indoor unit that shows refrigerant type – most current Lennox mini-splits run R-410A, but older units from the early 2010s may still be on R-22, and that changes the entire conversation about repair versus replacement.
On the OEM versus aftermarket question for Lennox specifically: we default to Lennox OEM parts when the unit is under warranty or when the failed component is a control board, inverter board, or anything involving communication protocol. For things like blower motors, capacitors, and drain pans, a quality aftermarket equivalent from a reputable manufacturer can save you real money without cutting lifespan short. We’ll tell you which is which before you spend a dollar.
We also stock and service Carrier and Trane mini-split parts for neighbors who have mixed-brand homes or a second system in a garage or addition.

Signs Your Lennox Mini-Split Installation Is Failing
- Unit runs but only lukewarm air comes out. This usually points to a refrigerant leak at a flare fitting, or a compressor that’s lost pumping capacity. In West Palm Beach, a mini-split that can’t hit its setpoint by mid-afternoon almost always has one of these two problems.
- Water dripping from the indoor head or staining the wall below it. The drain pan or drain line is clogged or cracked. Our humidity means a mini-split can produce two to three gallons of condensate a day – when that water goes somewhere other than the drain line, drywall damage follows fast.
- Constant clicking, buzzing, or a start-stop rhythm every few seconds. That is the inverter board or a capacitor failing to hold the compressor’s startup cycle. Ignore it and you’ll be replacing the compressor next.
- The indoor unit’s display flashes an error code that isn’t in your owner’s manual. Lennox uses alphanumeric fault codes that vary by series. We carry the full service-code reference for MLA, MPB, MCA, and MPA units on every truck, so we can translate that code the moment we walk up to the unit.
- The outdoor unit is covered in corrosion or the fins look like they’re dissolving. Salt air in West Palm Beach eats condenser coils faster than almost anywhere else in the state. Once the coil gets thin, you’ll lose charge and the system will struggle no matter how new it is.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For a failed Lennox mini-split part in West Palm Beach, here is the range of what you should expect to pay, parts and labor both:
- Control board or inverter board replacement: $350 – $900 installed, depending on series and whether we can source the board same-day or next-day.
- Blower motor replacement (indoor head): $400 – $800 installed. Lennox motors are specific to series and we match them by airflow rating, not just physical size.
- Compressor replacement: $900 – $1,800 installed, though on many units in the 8-to-10-year range we’ll be honest with you about whether replacement of the whole system is the smarter long-term play.
- Complete new Lennox mini-split installation, single-zone: $3,500 – $5,500. Multi-zone with two or three indoor heads: $5,500 – $7,500.
Every repair of ours comes with a written guarantee, and under the 365-Day Done Right Promise, if the repair fails within the guarantee period we return at no charge, no argument. Before any work starts, you get a written price – that’s how we operate, no exceptions.
DIY or Call Us?
Honest answer: there is very little about a failed Lennox mini-split that a homeowner should attempt to repair. These systems run high-voltage power to both the indoor and outdoor units, contain refrigerant under pressure, and the inverter boards are sensitive enough that one crossed wire becomes a much more expensive problem. A clogged condensate line or a dirty filter, sure – clean those. Checking the breaker and resetting it once, fine. But beyond that, what looks like a simple part swap often requires recovering refrigerant, brazing under nitrogen, pressure testing, and recharging by weight. If the wrong step is skipped, you’ll be calling us anyway, with a bigger bill. FAQs
In our coastal climate, a well-maintained Lennox mini-split typically lasts 10 to 15 years, but the salt air in West Palm Beach can cut that to 8 to 12 for units within a mile or two of the water. Regular coil cleaning and corrosion treatment will buy you years.
Boards and motors are replaced, not repaired, because repairing them costs more in labor than the part is worth. Refrigerant leaks, however, can often be repaired at the fitting or coil joint, and we’ll always tell you if the leak is fixable before recommending replacement of anything larger.
Most part replacements – a board, a blower motor, a capacitor – take 90 minutes to two hours once we’re on site with the part. Compressor replacement is a half-day job because of the refrigerant recovery and recharge involved.
We keep common failure items on the truck for Lennox mini-splits: control boards for the MCA and MLA series, blower motors, capacitors, flare fittings, and drain components. If your part isn’t on the truck, we can usually source it same-day or next-day from our South Florida supply houses.
